Kris Abrams
Hi, and welcome to my practice! I practice psychotherapy and shamanic healing in Cortez, Mancos, and Durango, Colorado, and I also work with clients from around the world by phone.

Psychotherapy and shamanic healing are both wonderful ways to help people live lives of authenticity, meaning and joy in a modern world that can make this challenging. Because each one of us is a complex collection of thoughts, emotions, experiences, behaviors, relationships, a body, and a soulful/spiritual self, I work holistically with each individual and incorporate a range of therapeutic techniques. These include:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy;
  • EMDR;
  • Mindfulness;
  • Gestalt;
  • Nature-based psychotherapy/Ecopsychology/Ecotherapy,
  • And, for those who desire it, shamanic journeying.

My formal education includes a M.A. from Oxford University, where I was a Rhodes Scholar, and a M.S. in Mental Health Counseling from Prescott College. I am trained as an EMDR therapist. I have also studied privately with my shamanic teacher for ten years.

To learn more about my practice, see www.cedartreehealing.org. To contact me directly, send an email to kris@cedartreehealing.org, or call (970) 403-5018. I look forward to meeting you.

Roy A. McKee, MSW

My practice as a psychotherapist includes working with individuals with serious mental illness and coexisting conditions, supporting couples to realize their best relationship, and supporting families and individuals deal with illness, death, and other life transitions. I have incorporated multiple modalities to support with individuals with depression, anxiety, and trauma including Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well using my personal experience as a long-term meditation practitioner.

I am currently planning to start a support group for couples who are engaged in the challenging work of step-parenting. This will be a couples-based group that will include opportunities for sharing experiences, education, and techniques to provide the best environment for couples and children.

My hope in any session is that individuals and couples feel safe and supported. I believe that, with deep listening and acceptance, a person may attempt the changes that will help them reach a wholesome relationship to their life. I can be contacted at 928-642-6028.
